David’s debut feature Faintheart, a comedy starring Eddie Marsan and Jessica Hynes, was the closing film at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and nominated for the Michael Powell award.

His second feature Containment, an eerily prescient pandemic thriller, is currently on Netflix EU & UK.

Work for television includes: five episodes of the long running daytime drama Doctors, the childrens’ series Whizziwig created by celebrated author Malorie Blackman and Living In Fear, a scripted horror/reality show hybrid for Sky/Eleven Films directed by Rob Savage (Host).

His pilot script West (a Fargo-esque set in Torquay) made the final 15 for the Red Planet Prize.

David has also written several audio dramas, including: The Man In Black starring Mark Gatiss for Radio 4 and Dark Shadows for Big Finish.

Current projects include: UK-based superhero comedy Grounded for Hat Trick productions, and supernatural thriller Possessions for Patrick Spence/ITV Studios.

Before focusing on writing, David worked in factual production. He produced documentaries on classic British films including: The Red Shoes, Black Narcissus and The 39 Steps.

He also worked as a camera operator/director on factual series following the emergency services and has filmed over 100 operations. He also filmed raids on crack dens; allowing him the chance to wear a kevlar vest and briefly feel macho.

When he isn’t writing, David teaches screenwriting at Central St Martins, The Met Film School and London Film Academy.
