Sofia left school at 16, worked as a nude life model, a top chef and a few other chance jobs before starting a career as an assistant director in TV and film, working with top UK comic/drama talents, including Olivia Coleman, David Mitchell, and Katherine Parkinson.
Graduating with a masters at Goldsmiths, she made her documentary debut feature, LOST IN VAGUENESS (BIFA Best Debut longlisted) which premiered on Sky, was sold to over 10 territories and is now on Hulu and Netflix. She has also made award winning fiction shorts that have shown internationally in over 50 countries, including premiering at the BFI Flare festival.
Sofia has been invited to several high profile industry schemes, including BBC Directors Scheme, BIFA Springboard and WFTV mentoring programme. She is currently being mentored by Matthew Evans as part of the Directors UK Inspire Programme.
